Just two days after this declaration, here at Black Forest, alongside the Natural Products Association (NPA), we celebrated an incredible victory: a U.S. court ruled that the FDA’s enforcement against NMN products was unjust. 

This moment marked a significant milestone in our fight to protect access to NMN, but it also shone a light on the deeper problems within the FDA and its unholy alliance with Big Pharma.

The FDA: An EXPOSED Agency

For years, the FDA has been at the heart of a system that prioritizes corporate profits over public health. Between 2006 and 2019, 9 out of 10 FDA commissioners left their roles only to take high-paying jobs with the pharmaceutical companies they were supposed to regulate. 

This "revolving door" has led to probably one of the most BLATANT conflicts of interest in American history: approximately 65% of the FDA's drug review budget is FUNDED directly by the pharmaceutical industry.

• Mark McClellan: After serving as FDA Commissioner from 2002 to 2004, McClellan joined Johnson & Johnson's Board of Directors in 2013.
• Scott Gottlieb: FDA Commissioner from 2017 to 2019, Gottlieb joined Pfizer's Board of Directors in 2019.
• Stephen Hahn: FDA Commissioner from 2019 to 2021, Hahn became the Chief Medical Officer of Flagship Pioneering, the venture capital firm behind Moderna, in 2021.
• James C. Smith: Former CEO of Reuters, Smith joined Pfizer's Board of Directors in 2014.
• Anthony Fauci: Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) since 1984, Fauci has been involved in collaborations with various research institutions, including funding research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
